Purpose:

1. Represent International Paint in technical matters when dealing with customers at site/yard.

2. Provide technical assistance and advice on surface preparation as well product application in accordance with project specifications and product datasheets.

Responsibilities

1. Provide technical advice on surface preparation/coating application on-site in accordance with agreed specifications.

2. Advise both shipyard/contractor and owner's representative when discovering any deviations from the specification unless rectified.

3. Utilize technical knowledge to assess painting application, coating failure analysis, inspection, testing, and provide required reports.

4. Provide technical information and advice related to product characteristics and product performance on-site.

5. Attend project meetings with the shipyard, contractor, and shipowner’s representatives.

6. Liaise with International Paint to ensure on time paint deliveries/returns/orders for the projects, etc.

7. Project stock control/ management at sites on behalf of International Paint.

8. Troubleshooting at sites and highlight to International Paint on issues related to quality, safety, delivery and handling the products as required.

9. Submit daily inspection reports via the ERS system and other relevant reports when required.

10. Provide monthly progress reports and other administrative works to International Paint.

11. Submit timesheets as proof of attendance to International Paint.

12. Ensure compliance with company policies and HSE requirements.

1. Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.

2. Coating Quality Control inspection experience (minimum NACE Level 2 or FROSIO Level III).

3. At least 5 years of working experience in a marine/shipyard environment.

4. Must have a high level of customer focus and ability to cope with several priorities concurrently.

5. Ability to deal appropriately and diplomatically with stakeholders at all levels and disciplines.

6. Excellent team orientation.

7. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

8. Detail-minded with organizational and problem-solving skills.

9. Proficient in reporting and literacy skills, including high level computer and applications literacy.

10. Able to communicate in English and Vietnamese.

11. Willingness to work in Ba Son Shipyard.
